The LAST REVIVAL
by David Wilkerson
What is ahead for the church of Jesus Christ? This is a question
of great concern to believers worldwide. As cataclysmic events
take place all over the globe, many are wondering, "Is the Holy
Spirit going to revive the church before Jesus returns? Will
Christ´s body leave this world with a whimper or with a shout?"
The New Testament is filled with predictions of a last-days falling
away. False prophets will rise up and lead many astray. Wolves
will come in sheep´s clothing, bringing powerful deceptions to
"deceive, if possible, even the elect of God." Wickedness will
abound, causing once-hot believers to lose their first love. With
the flood of iniquity to come, the love of many will grow cold.
Jesus prophesied these very things. And his warnings were
meant to challenge our faith. As overwhelming iniquity floods
the earth, he asks: "When the Son of man cometh, shall he
find faith on the earth?" (Luke 18:).
Think about it: Christ knew everything we would be witnessing
today, from horrifying school shootings, to the rise of militant
homosexuality, to terrorist acts taking place throughout the
world. In the midst of these things, he asks us, "Will you
continue to believe, though things wax worse? Will you faint in
your confidence when things don´t happen as you thought they
would? Or, will you continue to trust in me?"
You see, despite the rise in iniquity and great calamities, Jesus
knew there would be a great last-days revival. The Holy Spirit
inspired Isaiah´s prophecies, and he knew full well about the
prediction of a revival as the end draws near.
Isaiah said there would be a great, worldwide awakening just
prior to Christ´s return.
This prophecy is found in Isaiah 54 and is summed up in these
verses: "Thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left;
and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate
cities to be inhabited" (54:3).
I believe with a number of Bible scholars that Isaiah´s prophecy
has a dual application. It speaks not only about natural Israel
after captivity in Babylon, but also about the spiritual Israel that
was to come: the body of Jesus Christ, the church of the New
Jerusalem. Paul quotes from Isaiah 54 when he refers to the
"Jerusalem which is above...the mother of us all" (Galatians 4:26).
Paul saw Isaiah´s prophecy as directed "to the children of
promise," those in Christ by faith.

More preaching like this is needed today before it's too late. Judgment begins at the house of God. Just say no to sugar-coated messages!
ReplyDeleteAmen and AMEN..!..
DeleteIf this verse were to apply to spiritual Israel, we would currently have desolate cities to re-inhabit. Perhaps this will be true after the next World War, when large cities will be nuked.

DeleteThanks be to God Who continues to use the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. LORD bless
ReplyDeleteThis message is so today! Like many others who have been called to stand on the wall and sound the shofar, because the battle for the soul of man has begun, David Wilkerson was a prophet who, (like in Amos 3:7) knew the plans of the Sovereign Lord before they were on the scene. This often causes many to dissociate themselves with such a person as being "off the wall" or a "gloom & doomer." I sometimes believe that (2 Th. 2:11) has fallen on us, where many are under a strong delusion and are believing the lie! From the pulpit, to the "swamp" There have been so many lies and propaganda circulating in the spiritual and physical, that most are believing them! So often I write (Mt. 24:12) and emphasize that it is not some, nor half, but most who's love will wax cold! This is not the world, but those who call on the name of Jesus!
ReplyDeleteI had a dream just this morning, in which an Atheist was discussing why God was not real, and I had to speak about why I believed He was. As the discussion progressed, it seemed like it was televised and many were hearing both arguments. I noticed that because of the lack of love in this person's message, much of his words were falling to the ground. Yet what I was sharing was being heard and made many curious. As I woke, I received the impression in my mind that most of Christianity may be able to tell others who Jesus is, but few can PROVE WHO HE IS!!! For instance, someone can claim the Lord changed their lives by healing them from addictions.....the atheist can claim the same thing without acknowledging God. (the comparisons are endless) My point is, most Christians can do what the world does, we need to do what the world cannot do!
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons, miracles, signs and wonders! This is not preached from most pulpits in the Church today, so basically, there is more world in the Church than Church in the world! For fear of losing congregants and dwindling the coffers, most leadership has watered down the Word of God to make it more palatable and "seeker sensitive".. I am reminded of the Scripture (Ezk. 13:10) "Because they lead my people astray, saying 'Peace', when there is no peace, and because, when a flimsy wall is built, they cover it with whitewash." If you read on, you will find these "prophets" do not fare well. So it is today, as many are claiming "peace" and lulling their people into complacency, when they should be preparing for battle.....
I have spoken to many in leadership in several different churches, and mostly to no avail. Basically being told to "sit down, your rocking the boat." ( another dream) I am in a narrow classroom with empty desks and chairs. (The classroom was narrow may indicate the narrow path, or that many will not heed the warnings, just a Remnant) I here a voice (angel) say: "TEACH" I look around and see the classroom is empty and I say: "Teach? The classroom is empty!" Once again the angel's voice says: "TEACH" I say: "Teach what?" The angel says: "TEACH ON THE BOOK OF JEREMIAH" I step back, knowing in my waking hours, I have spoken in such a manner as Jeremiah, and was always rebuked. So I was hesitant to ask this in the dream: "In what context?" I then received a vision in the dream of a human heart on a life support system. Above, in bold black letters were the words: MATTERS OF THE HEART"
THANKYOU to all.. JESUS IS COMING SOON AS KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS... AMEN!.. BLESSINGS..Respectfully, the older prophet...
