( This message is in two parts )If there is a stench of evil in the "cesspool" of America, it is because the Church as a whole has forsaken her mandate. Remember..... "It is time for judgement to begin with THE FAMILY OF GOD" ( then it says ) "If it begins with us, ( then ) what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God." (1 Pe. 4:17) (emphasis mine) also....."If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, (then) what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?" (emphasis mine)
ReplyDeleteThe Great Commission in (Mt.28) seems to have faded throughout the centuries, as the "Church" more and more has been confined to the four walls with little or no outreach to the lost. We expect the lost to come to us, when in fact many of them reside in the chairs and pews each Sunday!! You cannot fix a broken world until you fix a broken Church. God does not want broken people trying to heal broken people.
Most "Christians" believe they are "good people" but by who's standards do they go by? What is the Church as a whole doing to "drain the swamp" ( if you will) within their own congregations? The ol' speck in your brother's eye, log in our own theory..... I firmly believe what you are saying concerning America, but I believe God has more grace for her, because of her ignorance to the Word of God. The Church on the other hand should know better!!!
There is more world in the Church than there is Church in the world. What is done in the secular world is detestable in the eyes of the Lord, but when the Church mirrors society, it is like "crucifying the son of God all over again!" (Heb. 6:6) Those who truly understand the righteousness and justice of God will know that first and foremost God will judge His own before the world, because once again.....we should know better! We need to look like the Warrior Bride God has envisioned, and we ourselves need to truly repent. I hear so often from the secular world the words: "Why should we become Christians, you look just like us!!"
God is raising up an Apostolic generation that will deal with the pretenders in the Church. They will have no grid for the agendas of man. The Church (as a whole) has built her reputation on "God look what we are doing for you" rather than "God what do you want us to do for you".....The "one man ministry" (ie."the pastor") will soon give way to a plurality of leadership that will raise the saints for the purpose of ministry and send them out. Pastor is found only once in the Bible in (Eph.4:11) as part of the fivefold ministry.
. We have been starving the saints with a lopsided message from one man, and we wonder why we cannot effectively evangelize the world!! We send out hundreds of "anointed" Evangelists" who preach the Word of God to millions for two or three days, thousands are saved, but when the Evangelist leaves, the words: "eat well, stay warm" ring true, because almost always, there is no place to send the new saints to be nurtured into maturity. They slip back into society with little or no mentoring.
ReplyDeletePaul and other Apostles stayed with those under their charge until they could raise up leadership. Only then did they move on. How much mentoring do most congregations get in a service that lasts only one hour each week?
How often do congregations hear they are the righteousness of God through Jesus, and that they have access to the power and authority God wishes to bestow on them? The message of salvation seems to be the only word that is preached from the pulpit, thinking that is all they can handle. There is more shrinking back in the Church when chaos ensues, simply because they are not taught to be warriors who raise their swords to the Lord of the Hosts and will never be put to shame. The world spins deeper into darkness, because the Church does not recognize it is the salt and light of the world!!! So if America is going down, it is because the Church has failed in it's mission to "make disciples of all nations" ( Mt.28) We need to be busy about our Father's business. The ol' "Christinese saying" (When you point a finger at someone, three are pointing back at you) I will leave with words from a nineteenth century theologian Abraham Kyuper: "When principles that run against you deepest convictions begin to win the day, then battle is your call, and peace has become sin.
