As the waters cover the sea" (Isa. 11:9).
And what is the secret of our being able to glory only in the Lord, and to enjoy His blessing in this the day of our visitation? It is given in Jer. 9:23,24:
Neither let the mighty man glory in his might,
Let not the rich man glory in his riches:
But let him that glorieth, glory in this,
THAT HE UNDERSTANDETH AND
KNOWETH ME."
Amen!!!! The people trusted in Moses, not in God. The people trusted in Gideon, not in God. We must learn to trust God rather than man. Seeking the Giver of the gift, and not the gift.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year.!!!!
I have not seen the video. Will check it out. Thx.
ReplyDeleteI listened to the sermon. It is currently impossible to find such preaching as this from any 'national' pulpit. Equally difficult is it to find even a close resemblance in any 'denominational' [controlled] "church". Maybe, just maybe, there are still a few faithful men who will tell the truth to those that will listen, but I know of none, nor do I seek one. As evil men wax worse and worse it is becoming imperative to bury my face in the Word and learn from the only real Teacher that we have: the Holy Spirit. It seems that there are a few around still today that have this mindset also and though we will likely never cross paths on this earth we shall meet one day soon enough at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. May the Lord find us faithful to our duty when we finally see Him.
ReplyDeleteSo thankful this world is not our home. Looking to man will disappoint us every time but as Isaiah tells us: He will keep those in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Him. Keep praying for eyes to be opened and hearts to be changed, and for opportunities to share a smile, a word of encouragement or a silent prayer for those God daily puts in our path. Thanks Darrel for both your and Lyn' post. They are an encouragement. I too was blessed by the video Lyn mentioned.
