"For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away..." Matthew 24

Seldom do we hear messages from the pulpits of our home church, or on radio or "christian" television admonishing us for the sins that have so easily beset us. Sermons pleading for repentance and a turning to righteous are replaced by ecumenical messages of tolerance and acceptance of our differences. Heart cries for the lost among us have become a thing of the past.

Rarely do "christians" acknowledge their sins committed against the Righteous and Holy God -

"Against You and You only I have sinned and done what is evil in Your sight, so that You are justified when You speak and blameless when You judge..." Psalm 51:4

Salvation cost us nothing.

We add our relationship with our LORD to the thousand and one other things that occupy our daily lives. Grace is cheap, mercy taken for granted. Ignoring the words of our LORD:

"...no servant is greater than his master. If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you also..."

We deny ourselves nothing as we work to elevate our status in life. Grabbing for the brass ring we attempt to keep up with the Jones while striving to get a bigger and better trinket we hope will make us feel better about ourselves...

Forgetting:  "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me."

We the church, His church, glide aimlessly through our daily lives paying lip service to God while our hearts remain cold, distant and hard. Church attendance has become rote for the bride. His Word is almost unrecognizable as sermons spew forth from worldly pastors teaching their flock about gentle Jesus, meek and mild or the Jesus who loves them just like they are and wants all to be happy, lacking nothing.

Luke ask us:

" when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?"

If we are honest we realize the answer MUST be NO.!!.

  1. Isn't this a sad truth? Praise God for His remnant; may He set aflame our hearts for Him, causing us to be alert of the times in which we live. There is a famine of truth in the land as pulpits spew out humorous messages that appeal to the flesh, but fail to prick the conscience. The lost leave the church the same way they came...

  2. Yes - and sadly, we continue to call ourselves a "christian" nation.

The handwriting is on the wall - yet few can understand the language of the message written in The Word[s]

  3. Exactly; this nation is currently under judgment as we speak, the wrath of God's abandonment, as we see sin escalating on all fronts. God has turned America over to her sins because this 'Christian' nation has turned her back on the Almighty, saying 'we will not have this man rule over us', and making gods out of money, careers, materialism, sex, self, and a host of others. This nation is no more Christian than Iran, or any nation.
I was reading Pink's 'sovereignty of God' and he was discussing how God chooses the foolish things of the world; he made a very interesting observation that I have to agree with. Here's what Pink says "it will not be long before it is manifested that the Lord has more in despised China who are really His, than He has in the highly favored U. S. A." We read how the church in China is growing, how believers gather in secret to worship and hear His word, under the constant threat of imprisonment and even death. Look at America, with expensive cars lined up in black topped parking lots, mega churches with coffee shops and restuarants inside; sanctuaries that seat thousands and filled with big screen tv's, elegant sound systems, and pastors who step out on stage dressed 'down' in order to be relevant with the culture. How many will gather in these decked out entertainment facilities when persecution comes full blown to this country? They probably will still gather, because the false 'jesus' they worship is no threat to this nation, and the persecuation coming will come from false religions just like theirs.
