Complete with swastikas, protesters carry signs outside the Israeli embassy in Cairo which read:

"The Gas Chambers Are Ready!"

Libya, now liberated by the U.S. military under the auspices of NATO, is on a path to becoming the third nation to establish Sharia law as the principal basis for all future constitutional legislation.

With violence ever increasing and the talk of war growing stronger in the Middle East, with the United States suffering deadly tornadoes, with massive rivers overflowing their banks, billion-dollar blizzards, hurricanes, drought and wildfires we grasp at strawmen - our arms hang limp at our side.

We feel powerless - but are we?

"Who has gone up to heaven and come down? Who has gathered up the wind in the hollow of his hands? Who has wrapped up the waters in his cloak? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and the name of his son? Tell me if you know!" Proverbs 30:4

We tune into the news - noon, six and eleven. We must be informed.  We look expectantly to the godless world albeit president, congress, the prime minister, socialism, king or crown to fix the problems. Americans look ahead to the 2012 elections, waiting with anticipation of a change for the better. The godless world of governments, stimulus monies, presidents or kings is neither our problem nor our salvation - yet we stand in awe and wait as if they were.

"I have a plan for the whole earth, a hand of judgment upon all the nations." Isaiah 14:26

We grumble and complain, perhaps we are shocked when  governments of the world act in ungodly ways. But should one expect the ungodly to act in any other way other than: "ungodly?'

"Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked." Psalms 97:10

Far too many Christians today claim to love God, yet tolerate sin, love evil and allow the Word of God to be twisted until it has become unrecognizable. MANY  bare the Name of Christ - but in name only. The church has been infiltrated by error and sin, and the people seemingly love to have it so.

One need not look too far nor too hard before the problem becomes apparent.

Ask the LORD to examine your heart. Examine your place in His kingdom, examine your commitment to follow Him. Look honestly and wait expectantly for Him - but do not trust nor expect the strawman to act on your behalf. We must seek to serve and honor Him with our lives. Our faith, our hope, our trust must be in our LORD and in Him alone.

We must stop looking to sinful godless man to do what only God can do.

"Therefore wait for me, declares the LORD, for the day I will stand up to testify. I have decided to assemble the nations, to gather the kingdoms and to pour out my wrath on them--all my fierce anger. The whole world will be consumed by the fire of my jealous anger." Zephaniah 3:8

Help us LORD our God to look in and not out, to look up and not around - to serve, to hope, to honor, to trust and to wait on You.

"...they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31
