Too many today teach another gospel.  Too many teach easy beliefism. Too many teach half truths, teaching that believing is enough for salvation. No need to life a godly holy life. If one continues to live in sin, they are still saved because they believe.  They will loose their rewards, but their salvation is secure in Jesus. Only believe.!!.

Hmmmmm - not exactly the way I understand the biblical teaching on salvation, for if one truly believes...

The Hebrew word for believe is from the same Hebrew root as faith. It means to stand sure as a firm pillar.

It is clear from Scripture that to believe is an action word.  To be a pillar and a firm support one must act upon his beliefs, otherwise it is not considered belief. John tells us those who say they know Him, yet do not keep His commandments are liars. They don’t truly know Him or believe in Him.

"He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him..." 1 John 2

"They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate." Titus 1:16

Faith and belief in Jesus brings sanctification. Faith and belief In Jesus purifies us. Faith and belief in Jesus brings righteousness. Faith and belief in Jesus does not leave us unchanged.

  1. Amen Ali, there MUST be evidence of a changed life. Striving for holiness and Christ-likeness is ongoing in this life. So many like to give out tracts with the 'roman road' on it, but they do not even understand what in means to 'believe in your heart'. Trusting in Christ is not just a verbal profession, it is a clinging to Him for all things, an understanding that from Him comes strength, wisdom, understanding, earthly provisions, mercy, chastisement,etc....it is a way of life.

    To put your complete trust in Christ means you understand you add nothing to the redemption and saving of your soul; all that is necessary for your complete redemption has been done by the almighty and triune God. You come to God helpless and hopeless, bringing nothing to Him except your sins. He, in turn, pours out His mercy on the brokenhearted and poor in spirit because Christ has atoned for sin.

    Nothing in my hand I bring,
    Simply to the cross I cling;
    Naked, come to Thee for dress;
    Helpless look to Thee for grace;
    Foul, I to the fountain fly;
    Wash me, Savior, or I die.
