“In such things as war, the errors which proceed from a spirit of benevolence are the worst.” Karl von Clausewitz

“We must be fully armed because we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:12

"The love of the world' way of thinking, embracing the world’ way of doing things not only dilutes our ability to think clearly as a ‘soldier’ belonging to the LORD’ army but will, if not avoided and resisted, cause us to betray the very One whom we are called to serve. It is entirely possible for a Christian to have his mind corrupted, his faith shipwrecked and to fall from steadfastness to become entangled in the world’s philosophy so that he might be overcome by the very enemy he is supposed to be fighting.

It is vital that we stay alert to the dangers of the world’s philosophy by which we learn to recognize our adversary." Henry M. Morris III-ICR

Absolute victory or eternal hell are counter to the view many Christians have of God. Surely God will accept the "good" person or overlook the ignorance of “the heathen” or “find a way” to save everyone. But the one attribute of God that overrides all others is His holiness. His love is subject to His holiness, His justice and His mercy are subject to His holiness. Those who reject Christ and all He has done will be rejected by God and cast into an eternity separated from the goodness and holiness of the Creator.

We are a part of the LORD’ army, part of that which is good and godly and noble and virtuous and praiseworthy. And while God withholds His judgment, for now, giving men time to repent, we who are part of His army must do His work on earth while there is still time...

Stay tuned.

  1. Amen Ali; it seems the whole world busies itself with the temporal, not realizing judgment looms. May God have mercy on the souls of men.

  2. Yes, the world focuses on the temporal leaving the spiritual to take care of itself. And the church is little better in too many instances.

We have been on holiday for a week with no computer access - Glad to be home.
