Bill Salus writes ---
"These are the days when the Bible is its own best commentary. Imagine Isaiah the prophet standing on the streets of Cairo today speaking in front of a mainstream news camera declaring:
'The burden against Egypt. Behold, the LORD rides on a swift cloud, And will come into Egypt; The idols of Egypt will totter at His presence, And the heart of Egypt will melt in its midst. I will set Egyptians against Egyptians; Everyone will fight against his brother, And everyone against his neighbor, City against city, kingdom against kingdom. The spirit of Egypt will fail in its midst; I will destroy their counsel, And they will consult the idols and the charmers, The mediums and the sorcerers. And the Egyptians I will give Into the hand of a cruel master, And a fierce king will rule over them," Says the Lord, the LORD of hosts. (Isaiah 19:1-4, nkjv)
Like a swift moving cloud, Isaiah predicts the rapid deterioration of events in Egypt. Civil unrest causes Egyptians to fight against each other. This fighting spreads from household to household and grows into a kingdom war. Probably quoting Isaiah 19:2, Christ warned kingdoms would rise against each other in Matthew 24:7. Unlike nation coming against nation, which alludes to world wars, "kingdom against kingdom" refers to regional conflicts. Christ taught these prophecies would come upon the world like birth pains. Like a woman about to deliver her newborn, these events are foretold to come with increased frequency and intensity each building upon the other.
Psalm 83 predicts the Arab kingdom will someday rise against the Jewish kingdom to banish the name of Israel forever. Both Egypt and Saudi Arabia along with eight other Arab populations join the Arab kingdom in this pending prophetic war.
Isaiah's prognosis for Egypt worsens as you read the rest of his chapter nineteen. Isaiah 19:5-12 tells us unprecedented religious and economic strife plagues the nation according to the purposes of the Lord. Apparently, this disastrous condition befalls Egypt because of its future involvement in Psalm 83 since we read in Isaiah 19:16-18 that Israel will take over five cities in Egypt and cause Hebrew to be the spoken language inside their city limits. One of these cities will be called "the City of Destruction," implying the I.D.F. destroys this city.
In that day Egypt will be like women, and will be afraid and fear because of the waving of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which He waves over it. And the land of Judah will be a terror to Egypt; everyone who makes mention of it will be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts which He has determined against it. In that day five cities in the land of Egypt will speak the language of Canaan and swear by the LORD of hosts; one will be called the City of Destruction. (Isaiah 19:16-18, nkjv)
Will the present protests inside Egypt metastasize into the fulfillment of Isaiah 19? If so will the coming cruel leader be the one who leads Egypt into the Psalm 83:6-8 confederacy?
We see through a glass darkly. All of this is unknown but entirely possible. The Middle East appears to be on the verge of fulfilling scripture -
Stay Tuned.

It becomes a soldier to die fighting, a minister to die preaching, and a Christian to die on their knees in prayer.
"And it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, that when He ceased, one of His disciples said to Him, LORD, teach us to pray."
Luke 11:1
It is through prayer that God has given the right to take hold of Him and His strength. It is through prayer that promises await their fulfilment: the kingdom for its coming and the glorious peace and joy of God for its full revelation.
The powers of the eternal world have been placed at the disposal of prayer. It is the very essence of true religion, the road on which our blessings travel, the secret of power and life. Not only for ourselves, but for family and friends, for the Church and for our lost and dying world.
"The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."
LORD, teach us to pray.

If the professed convert distinctly and deliberately declares that he knows the Lord's will but does not mean to attend to it, you are not to pamper his presumption, but it is your duty to assure him that he is not saved.
Do not suppose that the Gospel is magnified or God glorified by going to the worldlings and telling them that they may be saved at this moment by simply accepting Christ as their Savior, while they are wedded to their idols, and their hearts are still in love with sin. If I do so I tell them a lie, pervert the Gospel , insult Christ, and turn the grace of God into lasciviousness."

From the Book of Hosea we read:
"Hear the word of the Lord, because the Lord has a charge to bring against you who live in the land: “There is no faithfulness, no love, no acknowledgment of God in the land. There is only cursing, lying and murder, stealing and adultery; they break all bounds, and bloodshed follows bloodshed. Because of this the land mourns, and all who live in it waste away; the beasts of the field and the birds of the air and the fish of the sea are dying."
Eight thousand turtle doves fall out of the sky in Italy.
Two million fish die on the beaches of the Chesapeake Bay.
One hundred thousand fish die in the Arkansas River.
Forty thousand velvet swimming crabs dead on England’s beaches.
Hundred of tons of fish dead and dying on the shores of Brazil.
Flocks of birds falling out of the sky in Wilson County, Tennessee.
Penguins washing up dead in New Zealand, crows in Sweden, water birds in Houston and Minnesota, snappers dying in New Zealand. and now:
The Wisconsin Rapids Tribune reported that the Portage County Sheriff's Department dispatched police to the town of Stockton after a cattle owner discovered 200 head of dead cows" in a field.
The Oregon Department of Agriculture and Oregon State University are investigating the yellowing and dying of upward of 40,000 acres of wheat in Umatilla and Morrow counties. So far, the cause is a mystery, and researchers do not know if the problems in the two counties are related -- "This does appear to be a new problem -- a problem that no one seems to have experience dealing with."
"if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land." II Chronicles 7:14
And we as a nation have chosen to stand against Israel and with her enemies.???..

In October, 2010, The UN passed a resolution establishing an interfaith harmony week. Kick started by Jordan' Muslim King Abdullah and Price Ghazi, building bridges between Christian and Muslim, participants included Rick Warren, Bill Hybles, Jim Wallis, Mark Galli, senior managing editor of Christianity Today, members of the National Assoc. of Evangelicals, World Vision, Dallas Baptist University-Cook Graduate School and others.
Some look to a political solution to ease global tensions, others seek answers through religion. 'IF only the world's religions could get along, tensions would be reduced. Better yet, if they could somehow unite, there would finally be peace - right?' With this goal in mind, religious leaders and political powers alike are scrambling to support efforts aimed at uniting the world's religions.
BUT- without the support of the Christian church this goal will be impossible.True Bible believing followers of Jesus who believe it when Jesus said:
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6
are standing in opposition to this one-world/interfaith agenda. Recognizing this, the one-world/interfaith movement is becoming increasingly hostile toward biblical Christianity which is becoming increasingly marginalized and maligned due to our insistence that:
"This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:11-12
Loyal followers of Christ around the world - AND in America - can expect rejection and growing opposition. We must continue to hold out the only hope for mankind - Jesus and His atoning blood. IF our time in America is short, we must take every opportunity to share the gospel with this lost and dying world. As disciples of Jesus we must stay focused and not allow ourselves to be distracted by this world nor deceived by those who have the appearance of godliness, but deny it's power. IF our days of freedom are numbered, we must do all we can for the LORD while we are able. We must expose deception and lovingly proclaim truth.
Be committed and don't look back. Run the race well, all the way across the finish line - for the glory and honor of our LORD -
FOR HE IS WORTHY.

'False prophets are to be found in the circles of the most orthodox, and they pretend to have a fervent love for souls, yet they fatally delude multitudes concerning the way of salvation. The pulpit, platform, and pamphlet hucksters have wantonly lowered the standard of divine holiness and so adulterated the Gospel in order to make it palatable to the carnal mind.' A.W. Pink
When one preaches or teaches a carnal message, the result will be a carnal convert.
In Matthew 24:3-5 Jesus spoke these words to His disciples concerning the signs of His coming and the end of the age:
"And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many."
"... it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ." Philippians 1:9-10

As millions stood in Time Square to welcome the new year others choose a quieter road. As neighborhoods across the nation exploded in fireworks welcoming the new year - others choose a quieter road. Many tipped their glasses in bars and nightclubs across America - slurring the words to Auld Lang Syne while others choose a quieter road.
But, refusing to listen to the Words of the Lord many are following the stubbornness of their hearts, going after other gods to serve and worship them...
As we look toward 2011 - it is my prayer that many will come to see the futility of living in the world, the futility of worshiping and serving other gods and commit to travel the narrow road.
"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."
Matthew 7:13-14
