It seems good to reflect on the goodness of God as one travels through this world of twists and turns, ups and downs, joys and sorrows. The scriptures remind us that in this world we will have trouble. We can relate to Job as we face the grief and sorrow that often accompanies unexpected news of sickness or death, job loss or financial downturns.
We must not hold too tightly to this world. We must not cling to children or parents, husbands or wives, but place them gently in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father, the Giver and Sustainer of Life - both ours and theirs. We must not look to position, wealth or worldly possessions to sustain us, but, through prayer and supplication, with thankful hearts, we must walk in His will leaving our uncertain futures in the hands of our Sovereign God, knowing He does all things well.
"These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world." John 16
“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you..” Hebrews 13:5
Remember -- "We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God." Acts 14:22
