Word of Faith teachers and preachers would have us believe God’ desire is that believers live in abundance and perfect health, lacking nothing.
“Some people come to me and say, well I came here to get some peace, not money, and I tell them, you NEED money otherwise you ain't gunna get no peace. Some people say it's about peace, joy and love. NO!! It's about MONEY!” Creflo Dollar
"You can't do nothing on $50,000 a month! The Lord told me, this is the end time message. He is coming to look for His church without spot or wrinkle. But one of the biggest wrinkles the church has is being BROKE!" Leroy Thompson
Well known quote from Kenneth Copeland - "Money, come to me NOW!"
“If you are struggling financially, then you have not got the victory. God didn't create you to be average or poor.” Joel Osteen
But the Word of God is clear and teaches a gospel far different from that being delivered by televangelist and hucksters alike:
“Some were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise...” Hebrews 11
Like P.T.Barnum, these phonies are masters of manipulation and showmanship. Quoting a Bible verse they masterfully manipulate its meaning to conform to their perverted Word of Faith teaching.
The servant is not greater than his LORD;
If they persecuted Me…….
People support what they perceive as meeting their needs.
ReplyDeleteThe needs of most people today, as they see them, are: to have money, enjoyment and acceptance.
Meet those three needs, and they will come. But they won't necessarily come to Christ.
You are right Joe - they will come, fill the churches creating mega churches with meager messages and trash theology. ali
