I believe God has provided us with a very specific promise for the hard
times that are coming. It was given to Abraham and his seed as an oath.
“The oath which He sware to our father Abraham, that He would grant unto
us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve Him
without fear, in holiness and righteousness before Him, all the days of our
life” Luke 1:73-75
God has sworn to deliver us from every enemy,
every fearful thing, so we can serve Him all the days of our lives without
fear.
This oath from God must be the foundation of our trust in every
crisis, calamity and fearful time. Memorize it! Let it be your holy argument
at the throne of grace!
In Psalm 121 David has provided us with one of
the most powerful Holy Spirit arguments ever given to man. The entire psalm
tells us that all our help comes from the Lord alone. Psalm 124 is yet
another holy argument, a specific promise to enable you to build a special
trust.
Right now America is under a "signature judgment" of God.
Signature judgments bear a special mark of God in that they mirror the sins
committed against Him. As these judgments take place before our very eyes,
our only answer is to have Jesus as our shield. Run today to meet Him in the
secret closet of prayer. Let your roots go down deep into Him and know that
He will keep you in all circumstances.
Take hold of the following - memorize it - in readiness for any and all calamities we will
face:
"Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness. . . . He
shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the
Lord. His heart shall be established, he shall not be afraid"
Psalm 112:4,
7-8
"And He shall judge the world in righteousness. . . . The Lord also
will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And they
that know Thy name will put their trust in Thee: for thou, LORD, hast not
forsaken them that seek Thee" Psalm 9:8-10

"For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. For as in those days before the flood they were
eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah
entered the ark, and they did not understand until the flood came
and took them all away..." Matthew 24
Seldom do we hear messages from the pulpits of our home church, or on radio or "christian" television admonishing us for the sins that have so easily beset us. Sermons pleading for repentance and a turning to righteous are replaced by ecumenical messages of tolerance and acceptance of our differences. Heart cries for the lost among us have become a thing of the past.
Rarely do "christians" acknowledge their sins committed against the Righteous and Holy God -
"Against You and You only I have sinned and done what is evil in Your sight, so that You are justified when You speak and blameless when You judge..." Psalm 51:4
Salvation cost us nothing.
We add our relationship with our LORD to the thousand and one other things that occupy our daily lives. Grace is cheap, mercy taken for granted. Ignoring the words of our LORD:
"...no servant is greater than his master. If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you also..."
We deny ourselves nothing as we work to elevate our status in life. Grabbing for the brass ring we attempt to keep up with the Jones while striving to get a bigger and better trinket we hope will make us feel better about ourselves...
Forgetting: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me."
We the church, His church, glide aimlessly through our daily lives paying lip service to God while our hearts remain cold, distant and hard. Church attendance has become rote for the bride. His Word is almost unrecognizable as sermons spew forth from worldly pastors teaching their flock about gentle Jesus, meek and mild or the Jesus who loves them just like they are and wants all to be happy, lacking nothing.
Luke ask us:
" when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?"
If we are honest we realize the answer MUST be NO.!!.

The LORD speaking to Jeremiah, Chapter 18 says:
"...At one moment I might speak concerning a nation or concerning a kingdom to uproot, to pull down, or to destroy it; if that nation against which I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent concerning the calamity I planned to bring on it. “Or at another moment I might speak concerning a nation or concerning a kingdom to build up or to plant it; if it does evil in My sight by not obeying My voice, then I will think better of the good with which I had promised to bless it..."
America was founded [planted] by those choosing to worship without interference from the ruling authorities. Sailing to an unknown land, trusting God to lead them in the way He would have them to go, they founded this once great nation.
The years since the "planting" of America have seen drastic changes in this nation. Religious freedom has been replaced by religious tolerance. Commitment to God has been replaced by self-gratification, prosperity messages and seeker sensitive theology. Abortion and homosexuality have become the law of the land. The Bible has been removed from court house, school room and many churches as they teach a gospel not found in scripture.
America has done evil in God' sight and now in 2013 it would appear that the LORD is thinking better of the good with which He promised to bless.

From Russia we read: "Legislation being pushed by the Kremlin and the Russian Orthodox Church would make it illegal nationwide to provide minors with information that is defined as “propaganda of sodomy, lesbianism, bisexuality and transgenderism.” It includes a ban on holding public events that promote gay rights. St. Petersburg and a number of other Russian cities already have similar laws on their books."
And from America:
Quoting from the preamble to the Declaration of Independence that all men “are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights" Barack Hussein Obama stated:
"“Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law, for if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well."
Obama referenced the 1969 riot -protesting a police raid on a Greenwich Village gay bar, the Stonewall Inn, as a signature event in the civil rights movement — and ranked it with historical turning points in the battles for women’s and racial equality.

Paul in writing to Timothy and Jude [Judah] - the brother of our LORD Jesus spoke of perilous times.
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come…”
“In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires...”
“For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear….”
We are now witnessing the selfishness and utter godlessness of the last days - perilous times are upon us.
The changes we will be facing in the months ahead will catch unprepared and undiscerning Christians off guard. It will throw many into a panic and set them up for a powerful delusion as described in 2 Thessalonians 2 and Matthew 24. This deception - already underway - includes redefining the identity of Christ Jesus. It will be accompanied by a growing hatred and disdain for His followers.
As society moves further and further away from truth and moral absolutes, self deification and the pursuit of complete personal freedom; an anything goes mindset is developing. Christians must remain faithful and loyal to our LORD. We must take inventory of our lives, rooting out the sins of the world, not falling for the subtle deceptions of satan. We must yield ourselves completely to the Holy Spirit.
This is not a bad dream from which we will awaken, it is the reality of 2013. His remnant must be prepared. We must not grow faint over what we see coming our way. Instead, let us be bold and obedient to follow our LORD wherever He may lead.

The second inauguration of President Barack Hussein Obama ~
“I’m confident there are some steps we can take to control guns that don’t require legislation, actions that are within my authority as president
….Some will require legislation, others I can accomplish through executive action.”
“I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal… This was the moment — this was the time — when we came together to remake this great nation…” Barack Hussein Obama, June 3 2008
“Israel doesn’t know what its own best interests are… Netanyahu is leading Israel down a path toward near-total isolation by advancing settlement plans.”
January 22, 2013 --
Election of leadership in Israel, including the Prime Minister ~
"Jerusalem must never again be divided. Jerusalem must remain the united capital of Israel."
January 30, 1939 --
"In the course of my life I have very often been a prophet, and have usually been ridiculed for it. During the time of my struggle for power it was in the first instance only the Jewish race that received my prophecies with laughter when I said that I would one day take over the leadership of the State, and with it that of the whole nation, and that I would then among other things settle the Jewish problem. Their laughter was uproarious, but I think that for some time now they have been laughing on the other side of their face. Today I will once more be a prophet: if the international Jewish financiers in and outside Europe should succeed in plunging the nations once more into a world war, then the result will not be the Bolshevizing of the earth, and thus the victory of Jewry, but the annihilation of the Jewish race in Europe!" Adolf Hitler - January 30, 1939

"Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou
like a roe or a young hart upon the mountains of Bether."—SONG OF SOLOMON 2:17
Sometimes, neither sun nor moon appear for a long season to cheer the believer in the dark.
Terrible depression comes over us; we walk in darkness, we see no light.
How heavy a true heart may sometimes become; there is a needs-be that we be in heaviness through manifold trials. There is not only a needs-be for the trials, but also for the heaviness which comes out of them. It is not always that a man can gather himself together, and defy the fierce blasts, and walk through fire and through water with heavenly equanimity. No, brethren, "a wounded spirit who can bear?" and that wounded spirit may be the portion of some of the very fairest of the sons of God; indeed, the LORD has some weakly, sickly sons who, nevertheless, are the very pick of His family.
It is not always the strong ones by whom He sets the most store; but, sometimes, those that seem to be driven into a corner, whose days are spent in mourning, are among the most precious in His sight.
Yes, the darkness of the child of God may be comparative darkness, and it may to a great extent be positive darkness. But yet it can only be temporary darkness. The same text which suggests night promises dawn: "Until the day break, and the shadows flee away."
There is a gathering gloom over the church and the world. It seems as if night were coming on, and such a night as makes one sigh and cry, "Until the day break, and the shadows flee away." Some of us are obliged to go sorrowing when we look upon the state of the church and the world.
The old spirit, the old fire that once burned in the midst of the saints of God, is it there still,? Is it burning very low at present? We want—I cannot say how much we want a revival of pure and undefiled religion in this our day. Will it come? Why should it not come? If we long for it, if we pray for it, if we believe for it, if we work for it, and prepare for it, will it come?
The day will break, and the shadows will flee away. The mockers think that they have buried our Lord Jesus Christ, perhaps they have; but He will have a resurrection. The cry is, "Who will roll away the stone?"

Satan is out to get the children of God.
Temptation, Intimidation, Seduction.
He knows our Achilles heel, our vulnerable spots. Without shame satan probes and picks to bring us down. A word here a remark there and down we go, sliding without warning from the mountain peak to valley below. Wondering what hit us, oft doubting our salvation, we languish in a sea of despair. Satan has us where he wants us - until we come to the end of ourselves and cry out for mercy. Tattered and bruised we regain strength and seek His forgiveness for doubting, fearing or ever questioning who and what we are in our Messiah. We have been shown areas in our life that are less than 'spritual'. Repenting in sackcloth and ashes we arise with resolve and determination that, with His help, we will be better than we were before we hit the bump in the road, knocking us to our knees. We must recognize our power is limited and without Him, we are NOTHING and we can do NOTHING. We must accept that our salvation is not a reward, but a gift - His gift to us. We can't earn it and we certainly don't deserve it.
God often uses the schemes of the enemy to teach and to train His sheep. Painful, oh yes, temporarily debilitating - sometime, but always necessary if we are to grow and be conformed to His image.
"No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it." Hebrews 12:11
""Blessed is the man whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty. ..." Job 5:17
"My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline and do not resent His rebuke..." Proverbs 3:11
It's been a hard week - my wounds are beginning to heal.

When the world is hopeless with fear, you are to tell them that great is the anger of the LORD against this people.
Calamity has come by their own hand - because they refused to obey their God.
"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour..."I Peter 5:9
......strengthen the disciples and encourage them to remain true to the faith. We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God. Acts 14:22

I want the church to be truthful and honest, and it isn’t always.
I want the leadership to teach me from a strong biblical foundation, and they don’t always.
I want the messages from the pulpit to be relevant to our times, to teach and to train the congregants how to live in this fallen world, and they fall short all too often.
I am disillusioned, I am disappointed and I am frustrated over the church.
But then,
Maybe it’s time "I" realized that if "I" want disillusionment and disappointment to disappear, my grief to turn to joy, the first person who has to change is me.
In Matthew 11:28, Jesus invites us ~ "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
Whenever I become I become frustrated, disillusioned, disappointed…. My LORD’ constant, unconditional reassuring words and love will provide the comfort and courage I need to face the challenges that will come.
The LORD is my ultimate peace, my joy and my security - not the church.
His kingdom is not of this world.
